The South of Scotland MZ Riders Club has its annual rally on the weekend of the Spring Bank Holiday (first Monday
in May) Camping in the Scottish Highlands this early in the year is tempting
fate, or more specifically, the weather gods. The omens were not good this
year with snow showers and a poor weather forecast. But by Friday there was some
hope so I loaded up and headed off. As it turned out it was cool but bright.
***update*** - I forgot to say that the rally was held in the village of Tighnabruaich.

Looks like the weather wasn't too bad. Where was it held?
ReplyDeleteSorry, I forgot to say that it was in Tighnabruaich. It was very much a case of "will we won't we" before the rally because of the weather. As it turned out it was quite nice. Bright & sunny and almost warm in the sun. Frosty at night, but that was expected, so I wrapped up well.
DeleteSo glad you ended up with sunny days to warm things up a bit.
ReplyDeleteYes, things turned out very well. If I use the ferry Tighnabruaich is only 56 form home so it wouldn't have been a disaster had things turned bad. Malcolm hadn't explored the Cowal Peninsular so it was good to show him some of my favourite back roads.
DeleteLooks like everyone had a fun time and nice to see people on their bikes :-)
